Book Review - Heroes of Liberty Series

As I look for ways to expand the blog, I’ve decided to periodically review materials and resources that I believe my audience might find helpful. The first of these I have decided to review is the Heroes of Liberty book series targeted to children aged 6 to 12 and edited by well-known conservative writer, Bethany Mandel.

The books themselves are biographies of well-known, mostly conservative, figures in American and Western history like Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, and Clara Barton as well as living figures such as Amy Coney Barret, Thomas Sowell, and Elon Musk. They highlight aspects of the subject’s life consistent with the pursuit of freedom and other traditional American values. They particularly discuss figures that may be difficult to find material on in the mainstream book market. Given Heroes of Liberty’s unique perspective, even figures that may be found elsewhere will likely be presented in a unique, decidedly positive conservative context. For those that homeschool, the books would be a great supplement to your curriculum.

The books are hardcover and of very nice quality, beautifully illustrated with thick, glossy, pages. If taken care of, they should last a long time. Given that high quality books are generally expensive, the price point of the books is quite reasonable. However, if you purchase them in bundles, they will be significantly cheaper, and the best overall value that still provides the most flexibility is the monthly subscription. This is the subscription I have. The books are shipped via FedEx and can be canceled at any time.

Considering content, quality, and price, I think one would be hard pressed to find better for books of this nature, and I am very excited to see such a product on the market.
